“Children of the Archbishop” by Norman Collins is a novel set in the 1920s and 30s in a London orphanage, the Archbishop Bodkin Hospital, Putney. It tells the story of Margaret’s determination to protect the orphan Sweetie and the unfolding events at the orphanage during a polio epidemic.
