Cambodia: Report from a Stricken Land

Last year, the death of Pol Pot, the ruthless dictator of the 1970’s, marked the end of an era of fear, despair, and social and economic ruin in Cambodia. But the country remains a chaotic land amid the other countries in Southeast Asia, struggling for peace and hoping for a savior. Despite the media coverage and the films made about Cambodia, many of the events and people responsible for its hellish decline remain mysterious.
