This book is a speech given by John Tyndall, a prominent physicist and naturalist, at the meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science in Belfast in 1874. It was published by Longmans, Green, and Co in the same year. It has 65 pages + publisher’s catalogue of 44 pages at end and discusses the scientific method, the role of imagination, and the relation between science and religion. Additionnal remarks, light foxing on front and back endpapers, sun-faded spine and cover. Discoloured purple cloth with gilt lettering. Foxing to spine. Mild bumping to corners, edges and spine. This edition includes a new preface by the author.
