Beolite’s Country traces the 160 year history of the Mansfield district in North East Victoria from the time of the Aborigines and the first squatters to the present day. It focuses on the original lease of Watson & Hunter and the six subsequent properties which evolved from it, and traces the history of each from 1839 to the present day. In the process it deals with the various Land Acts which framed the settlement of the colony, and because of the enormous effect of the rabbit on land development, a chapter is also devoted to its impact from arrival to Calicivirus. Published by Warrior Press in 1998, the book has 107 pages.
